What Medkit is
Medkit is an app for studying with cards and spaced repetition, and it opens in your browser. It comes complete: the card types, the image editor, the importer, and the statistics are already there.
You create cards, group them into decks, and study. Medkit keeps track of how each one went for you and decides when to show it again: not so soon that you waste your time, not so late that you've already forgotten it.
Three of the six card types work on an image, so Medkit fits visual material and not just lists of questions.
It gets used in two separate moments and both matter: the short daily session to review what is due, and a longer, occasional one to create or import material.
Who it is for
For students of any field or subject. The name comes from where the project started, not from who it is for: Medkit is not narrowed to medicine. What changes between one subject and another is which card type suits you, not the tool.
Why it exists
Spaced repetition works. The problem is that the tools that get it right usually ask you to build the tool first: install add-ons, look up tutorials, configure before you study. That upfront work loses people before they ever get to study.
We started it out of a concrete need: studying long, visual, detail-heavy topics without relying on scattered notes or on rereading the same summary fifteen times. Medkit was designed the other way round from the start, which is why it opens in the browser with nothing to install.
How we think about it
It comes complete. If something forces you to install an add-on, configure it, or go looking for a tutorial, we do not consider it finished.
The algorithm stays out of sight. FSRS decides which card is due and when, in the background, and never asks you to understand its parameters or tune them.
Accessibility is not a separate section. Text size, readable fonts, contrast, and reduced motion are part of the product.
And nothing is promised before it exists: what this page says is what Medkit does today.
Who we are
Medkit started as a project between engineering students, and it started because the apps we tried did not work for what we were studying. We were its first users: every feature came out of something we needed.
Over time it stopped being a tool for our own subjects and started working for any of them.
It is not a company's product: we built it and we keep it running. The mail that reaches the contact address is answered by us.

The whole path, from creating a deck to seeing your progress, is laid out step by step.
